Art Party: Whimsical Watercolors

Thursday, September 17th, 6 - 8 PM

You and your friends are invited to write your own stories and make your own marks by way of creating bookmarks & zines at the gorgeous and intimate Wine & Roses Parlor Bar inside Zelda Dearest Hotel. When you arrive you may sidle up to the Parlor Bar and order your favorite drink and then sashay your way over to the art materials buffet Miranda has lovingly curated for you. There will be plenty of unique and dazzling materials to create one of a kind bookmarks and zines. These little art gems will be wonderful gifts or keepsakes. Miranda will provide gentle, creative guidance along the way as you enjoy an evening of relaxation, celebration and art making together.

What is a zine? A zine is a little self-published booklet often telling a story, offering step-by-step DIY instructions, or documenting an event. There are no rules for the content. Often times zines are created on very simple paper with simple materials and then photocopied to be distributed. Think mini magazine that you create!

Story Cellar Session

Tuesday, September 29 · 6:30 – 8:00 PM · Wine & Roses Parlour Bar

Every bottle carries a story, if you know where to listen for it. On September 29th, Wine & Roses welcomes Austin Corley of Story Cellar Sessions for an evening built around the tales behind the glass — where each pour comes with its history, its geography, its reason for being remembered.
Austin's approach was shaped by years curating an award-winning, 280-plus-label list at Biltmore Estate, and he treats a tasting less like a lineup and more like a conversation — part history lesson, part shared discovery. Joining him for the evening is Ayla Claypool, stepping into the room as Zelda herself, lending the parlour a voice from the era the wines recall.

Nick & Brew

Brew Davis is a singer/songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee who grew up in the shadow of the Bluebird Cafe. His debut solo album was a WNCW Top 100 in 2018.
Adam Bachman has played dobro the Ryman Auditorium the Station Inn and is the head distiller at The Chemist in Asheville where his single malt whiskeys and ryes have received the highest honors at Spirits Competitions around the world.
When not playing duo sets, Adam and Brew perform together in the Asheville-based Americana and Bluegrass band Nick & Brew (www.nickandbrew.com).
